LabelUp ("the App", "we", "us") is a Shopify app that lets merchants add product labels, badges, spotlights, delivery estimates and similar on-storefront elements. This policy explains what data the App processes and how.
Information we process
- Store information — your
myshopify.comdomain, store name, store owner email address, plan/currency/locale, and your subscription status. Provided by Shopify when you install the App. - App configuration you create — the labels, badges, groups, spotlights, delivery widgets, rules and design settings you configure, and images you upload or select.
- Product, theme, market and translation data — read from your store via the Shopify Admin API, only as needed to target and render your labels.
- Anonymous storefront activity — used only when you enable the optional Fomo social-proof popups. To show real (never fabricated) popups the storefront script counts anonymous visitor sessions (a random, per-session identifier — no cookies, no login), records real "added to cart" events (the product added and the time), and derives an approximate city/country from the visitor's IP address at our edge (e.g. "Someone in Canada added this to cart"). The IP address itself is never stored — only the coarse city/country. No names, emails, addresses, payment details or order history are collected.
We do not collect your customers' identifying personal data — no names, emails, addresses, payment details or order history. For most features the storefront script only reads publicly available product/page information. The optional Fomo feature additionally processes the anonymous, coarse signals described above (session counts, cart-add events, and an approximate IP-derived city/country, with the IP never stored).
How we use it
- To provide and render the App's features on your storefront and admin.
- To show real, anonymous social-proof popups (visitor counts, recent cart activity and approximate location) when you enable the Fomo feature.
- To manage your subscription and billing (handled by Shopify).
- To provide customer support and respond to your questions.
Third parties we share with
- Shopify — the platform the App runs on. Images you use are uploaded to your own Shopify Files and served from Shopify's CDN.
- Crisp (live-chat support) — when the support chat is used, we pass your store URL, store name, store owner email, plan, and the app name so our support team can assist you. See Crisp's privacy policy at crisp.chat/en/privacy.
- Infrastructure providers — the App is hosted on Vercel and its database on Supabase (PostgreSQL). They process data solely to host the service on our behalf.
We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your configuration for as long as the App is installed. When you uninstall the App,
and again when Shopify sends the mandatory shop/redact request (about 48 hours
later), we permanently erase all data we hold for your store. You may also request erasure at
any time by contacting us. The anonymous Fomo activity (cart-add events and visitor sessions) is
short-lived and automatically deleted within roughly 48 hours.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your store's data. Because the App stores no customer-identifying data (the Fomo activity is anonymous and not linked to any customer identity), the mandatory customer data-request and redaction webhooks are acknowledged with no customer-identifiable data to return.
